The Burriana Municipal Library hosted nearly 1,000 primary school students during April for guided tours, a well-established initiative to promote reading habits and the use of library services.

This initiative, with over 30 years of history, aims to bring library services closer to 1st and 2nd grade primary school students from all educational centers in the city. The sessions took place during the weeks of April 14 and 20, with participation from all schools in Burriana.
During the visits, library staff explained the facilities' operation, room organization, and the steps to obtain a membership card and access the lending system. The activity was complemented with animations related to the world of reading, to make the experience more engaging for the younger ones.
Additionally, on April 23, coinciding with Book Day, the library hosted a special guided tour open to the public. This day delved into the institution's history and allowed access to the repository to explore the old and local collections.

"Maintaining this type of activity for over three decades reflects the importance of facilitating access to culture from an early age."

the Education councilor
The Education councilor highlighted the continuity of this initiative and emphasized the need to consolidate the library as an accessible and useful space for the educational and personal development of schoolchildren.
