Reciplasa has completed the sealing of cell B at the Onda landfill, a strategic 2.7 million euro project that enhances environmental sustainability and waste management.

Reciplasa has completed the sealing of cell B at the Onda landfill, a strategic operation representing an investment of 2.7 million euros. This project is the main component of a 4.5 million euro improvement plan approved by the entity to optimize its facilities and enhance waste management sustainability. The work will be finalized with hydroseeding, which will be carried out when meteorological conditions are more favorable.
This action aligns with Reciplasa's commitment to advancing the environmental improvement of its infrastructure and minimizing the activity's impact on the surroundings, while ensuring compliance with the technical and regulatory requirements for such facilities.

"We are keeping our word and fulfilling one of the most significant investments planned for our facilities. The sealing of cell B at the Onda landfill was a priority action from both an environmental standpoint and for the quality of service we provide to the consortium municipalities. This project demonstrates Reciplasa's commitment to modern, efficient, and environmentally respectful management."

Sergio Toledo · President of Reciplasa
The president of Reciplasa, Sergio Toledo, highlighted that this action is part of a global strategy to improve the plants in Onda and Almassora, resulting from an agreement with the Temporary Union of Companies responsible for the service. "We are seeking solutions that allow for the proper treatment of waste within our facilities. We are studying the possibility of building new facilities adapted to greater environmental demands," he added.

"Today marks an important step in closing a chapter that has defined Onda for many years. The sealing of cell B was a necessary action to continue improving our environment and respond to a historic demand from the people of Onda. This investment shows that commitments become reality when there is a will to do things right."

Carmina Ballester · Vice President of Reciplasa and Mayor of Onda
Meanwhile, the mayor of Onda, Carmina Ballester, also vice president of Reciplasa, highly praised the execution of this project. She emphasized that "Onda has been supportive for decades by hosting these facilities, and now we continue to advance so that its activity becomes increasingly sustainable and environmentally friendly. Our duty is to keep working to leave future generations a better city than the one we received."
The investment allocated to sealing the landfill constitutes the most significant portion of the package of actions approved by Reciplasa, which also includes other improvements aimed at increasing the operational efficiency of the facilities. Among these are the construction of a mattress recovery plant at the Almassora transfer station and the modernization of the compaction area at the same plant.
With the completion of cell B's sealing, Reciplasa takes another step in its continuous improvement strategy, reinforcing sustainable waste management and consolidating facilities adapted to current and future environmental challenges.
