The meeting, which took place at the Onda City Council, focused its efforts on ensuring the continuity of the collection and treatment service for the 46 associated municipalities. The treatment area of the facility was completely affected by the fire, which occurred on Sunday.
The board, chaired by a representative of the entity, also included the participation of the Director General of Quality and Environmental Education of the Generalitat. The priority objective is to maintain normal service while the plant remains partially inoperative.
“"Thanks to the coordinated work with the different waste consortia and the Generalitat Valenciana, the service has been fully guaranteed from the first moment."
This coordination will allow the redistribution of the treatment of the between 400 and 450 tons daily that the plant receives. The personnel of the Provincial Fire Consortium of Castellón continue to work in the area and have confirmed the favorable evolution of the fire, preventing greater damage and preventing the spread of the fire to the forest mass of the municipality of Onda.
During the council, the need to accelerate planned projects to modernize waste management infrastructures in the province was also addressed. The entity has insisted that the absolute priority remains to guarantee service to citizens and advance in the planning of new infrastructures that strengthen the system in extraordinary situations.
