The Onda City Council has been awarded a grant of 27,034.29 euros by the Generalitat Valenciana, one of the highest amounts granted, to promote the use of the Valencian language in the municipality through the Aviva Onda agency.

This aid, provided by the Second Vice-Presidency and Ministry of the Presidency, is part of the annual call for subsidies aimed at city councils and commonwealths across the Valencian Community. The amount received places Onda among the municipalities with the highest regional funding for the promotion of its native language, surpassed only by larger cities such as València, Vila-real, Alcoi, Castelló de la Plana, or Alzira.

"We continue to work so that Valencian is present in the daily lives of Onda residents through culture, education, and local commerce."

the Onda Education Councillor
The Education Councillor of Onda, María Ojeda, positively assessed the concession, emphasizing that this economic support recognizes the constant work of Aviva Onda in bringing Valencian closer to all aspects of daily life, from schools to commerce and cultural activities. The regional grants aim to finance initiatives for the social promotion of Valencian and the maintenance of municipal linguistic service offices.
In Onda's case, the subsidy will allow for the strengthening of a transversal program that reaches various sectors of the population. Subsidized activities include Valencian courses at the Casal Jove, the reading campaign Llig un còmic, children's theater performances, and storytelling sessions in Valencian, as well as collaborative initiatives with the municipality's educational centers, such as participation in Innovacant.
Commemorative activities for the Nou d'Octubre, the publication of the school agenda and the calendar Onda, Ciutat de la Infància, and various informative and linguistic awareness materials are also funded. The grant also supports commercial and social revitalization campaigns like Rebaixes i Descomptes, Dis-li-ho en valencià, or De tapes per Onda, which seek to promote the use of the language in shops, hospitality, and community spaces.
Furthermore, the funding includes traditional and cultural activities such as Nadales al carrer, the Carta als Reis d'Orient, and the awards ceremony for the Christmas Card contest. Another subsidized action is the installation of defibrillator location panels in Valencian, an initiative linked to the educational project Salvem vides! from CEIP Miralcamp, which reinforces citizen awareness and the presence of the native language in public signage.
