With the collaboration of the Ministry of Culture, the Directorate General for Books, Comics, and Culture, the city councils of Paiporta, Alaquàs, and Catarroja, the FULL Foundation for the promotion of Books and Reading, Contes per la Dana, the Guaix collective, and the Cor en Dansa group, these cultural conferences will remember and vindicate the figure of Llorenç Giménez, a pioneer of Valencian oral narration closely linked to the Horta region.
The event will take place in the annex hall of the Museu de la Rajoleria de Paiporta, at the Castell d’Alaquàs, and in the Library of Catarroja. The program, coordinated by writer and storyteller Carles Cano, will be aimed at an adult audience and will offer spaces for reflection and debate on contemporary oral narration, with afternoon activities and special nighttime storytelling sessions.
For five days, the conference will bring together storytellers, specialists, and lovers of oral tradition in various round tables, talks, and cultural encounters. Afternoon activities will begin at 7 PM, while the oral narration sessions will take place at 10:30 PM.
The organization will highlight the human and cultural legacy of Llorenç Giménez, a key figure in the recovery and dissemination of oral narration in the Valencian Community. An exhibition about Llorenç Giménez and book sales will be available at the three venues. All activities will be free entry until full capacity.
