The Onda City Council has initiated a pilot test to improve thermal comfort in the classrooms of CEIP Mestre Caballero, installing fans in 20 educational spaces.

The Onda City Council has launched the first phase of its municipal thermal comfort plan for educational centers by installing fans in 20 classrooms at CEIP Mestre Caballero. This action will allow for the evaluation of the system's effectiveness during the summer school program, coinciding with the highest temperatures, before its potential implementation in other educational centers in the municipality.
The intervention was carried out after an exhaustive analysis by municipal technicians. CEIP Mestre Caballero was selected for this pilot experience as it hosts the municipal summer school, which will facilitate testing the system's performance under real usage conditions during the hottest months.

"Families expressed a concern, and we started working to find the best solutions. This pilot test will allow us to see which measures work best in real conditions and continue advancing steadily in the thermal comfort of Onda's educational centers."

The installation of this pilot test is now complete and will serve the hundreds of children participating in the municipal summer program. This will enable the City Council to gather information on the system's performance and analyze its behavior during a particularly demanding climatic period. The objective is to obtain real data to assess the effectiveness of the action and define future phases of the municipal thermal comfort plan, always from a technical perspective adapted to each building's characteristics.
The initiative is part of the roadmap promoted by the City Council to improve educational spaces in the municipality and respond to a demand shared by families, teachers, and management teams. This project is part of the municipal strategy to offer students increasingly modern, functional, and needs-adapted facilities.
Among the notable educational projects in Onda is the construction of the new Escola Infantil Sambori, one of the largest educational investments in recent years, exceeding 2.7 million euros. The future center will feature nine classrooms for children aged 0 to 3, a dining hall, multipurpose spaces, secure playgrounds, and garden areas, with an accessible, bright design connected to the outdoors.
