The Onda City Council continues to make good progress on the construction of the new Sambori Children's School. The works have now passed the structural phase and are currently focused on interior installations and finishing the building. The mayor of Onda, Carmina Ballester, visited the site to check the progress of a strategic project for Onda's families.
Currently, the structure of the new educational center is completely finished. Work is focused on the execution of electrical, plumbing, and air conditioning installations, after the completion of roofing, exterior enclosures, and building structure, which already presents its almost definitive exterior appearance.
During the visit, Ballester highlighted that the new Sambori "is already a visible reality and every step brings us closer to the modern, safe, and adapted center that Onda's families deserve." She emphasized: "After years of deterioration and neglect, today we are building facilities designed to offer the best possible educational environment from the early childhood stage."
Having completed the foundation and erected the entire building structure, the project has entered a new phase focused on technical work and interior conditioning. The necessary installations for the future center's operation are currently being executed, before tackling the final phase of interior finishes. The distribution and final configuration of the building can now be appreciated, anticipating what the future educational center will look like once the works are concluded.
The new Sambori is being built on the same plot on Maestro Giner street and will feature nine classrooms for children aged 0 to 3 years, a dining hall, multipurpose spaces, safe playgrounds, and garden areas. The building's design favors a single floor with accessible, bright spaces directly connected to the outdoor areas.
The project involves an investment of over 2.7 million euros, financed by the Generalitat Valenciana, and is part of the government team's commitment to improving the city's educational infrastructure. Ballester stated: "The education and well-being of children have always been a priority for this City Council, and projects like the new Sambori reflect our commitment to continue investing in quality public services and in the future of Onda." "We want to continue building a city designed for the youngest, consistent with our commitment as a Child-Friendly City," she added.
While work continues, the students of the Sambori Children's School are maintaining their normal educational activities in the provisional classrooms set up in plaza 8 de Marzo.
