This cultural initiative seeks to expand the original repertoire for plectrum instruments and, at the same time, strengthen the cultural activity of the municipality of Nules. The competition is open to composers of any nationality, who may submit original, unpublished, and unperformed scores.
Submitted works must be written specifically for plectrum orchestra and have a duration of between five and ten minutes. The call for entries allows for freedom in technique and form, but compositions should be geared towards interpretation by a medium-level ensemble.
The organization thus intends to promote new pieces that can be realistically incorporated into the repertoire of this type of musical group. The contest offers a single prize of 2,000 euros, which will be supplemented by the publication of the winning work.
Interested parties have until July 15 to submit their works. The jury's decision will be announced in November, coinciding with the concert organized by the Daniel Fortea Plectrum Orchestra on the occasion of the feast of Saint Cecilia. From the municipal Culture department, this commitment to enriching Nules' cultural offerings is highlighted.
