The Nules City Council, with the support of the Daniel Fortea Plectrum Orchestra, has announced the I International Composition Contest for Plectrum Orchestra Daniel Fortea, aiming to foster the creation of original repertoire for these instruments.

This initiative, sponsored by the municipality, seeks to enrich the musical landscape of plectrum instruments, inviting composers of any nationality to participate. Submitted works must be original, unpublished, and not previously premiered.
The contest rules stipulate that each composition must have a minimum duration of five minutes and a maximum of ten. While technique and form are free, the pieces must be designed for interpretation by an intermediate-level ensemble.

"With this international contest, we are committed to further enriching the culture of Nules."

M. José Esteban · Councillor for Culture
A single prize of 2,000 euros will be awarded to the winning work, which will also include its publication. Those interested in participating have until July 15 to submit the required documentation by certified mail to C/Santa Natalia, 79 in Nules.
The jury's decision will be announced in November, coinciding with the concert that the Daniel Fortea Plectrum Orchestra annually organizes to celebrate the feast day of Saint Cecilia.
