The Town Hall of Nules, led by Mayor David García, has announced a review of statements and comments to determine if the honor of councilwoman Gemma Carratalá has been violated.

The Mayor of Nules, David García, announced in a plenary session that files containing statements from the PP and Vox parties, as well as social media comments, have been handed over to the municipal legal services to investigate potential violations of councilwoman Gemma Carratalá's right to honor. This decision follows an investigation by the Valencian Antifraud Agency into the contracting of 'Puntos Violeta' (Violet Points) during the August 2023 festivities, which indicated alleged irregularities in awarding the service to the brother of the Equality councilwoman, Gemma Carratalá, along with potential conflicts of interest and misuse of public funds.
The contract, amounting to 6,670 euros, exceeds previous years' figures. Antifraud also suggests the contractor may not have actually provided the service and that the professionals involved were not registered with Social Security at the time. Mayor García defended the presumption of innocence, emphasizing that there is no ongoing judicial investigation against the councilwoman and warning that the Town Hall will take legal action if slander or libel are identified.
The Equality councilwoman, Gemma Carratalá, acknowledged an administrative and human error in the management but denied any personal financial gain or intent to deceive. She apologized for the mistake, which occurred shortly after she took on her responsibilities, and expressed regret for the personal harm caused to her family.
Meanwhile, the PP has announced it will take the case to the Prosecutor's Office and has called for an investigative commission. Vox bases its position on the Antifraud report, while governing partners urge caution regarding the accusations.
