The Moncofa council has received the 'LGTBIQ+ Free Space' distinction, awarded by the Directorate General for Diversity of the Generalitat Valenciana. This award recognizes institutions, entities, and companies that promote respect for the rights of LGTBIQ+ individuals and foster discrimination-free environments.
The award ceremony took place on June 25th at the Valencian Institute of Modern Art (IVAM), in Valencia. Representing the municipality, the Equality Councilor, M. Teresa Alemany, accepted the award.
According to the town hall, obtaining this distinction highlights the municipality's track record in promoting equality and diversity, as well as the initiatives implemented to prevent any form of discrimination against LGTBIQ+ individuals. The distinction also entails adherence to the Generalitat's action protocol for potential situations of discrimination or violence based on sexual orientation or gender identity.
The Equality Councilor, M.
