Under the slogan 'Caring for the mind is caring for health,' this edition emphasizes the importance of mental health, understanding it as a fundamental pillar of people's overall well-being. The program has been designed to “bring health out of consultations and into the streets,” as explained by the organizers.
“"Health is not only physical, but also mental and psychological."
The activities will address the topic from multiple perspectives and life stages. Topics to be covered include the impact of social media on youth, gender perspective and sexual identity, migratory processes, pregnancy and motherhood, and the reality of caregivers and the elderly, including aspects such as loneliness.
The week will culminate on Saturday, April 25, with a special day at Plaça del Parc, which will include a guided walk, dance and body movement workshops, and the reading of a manifesto for mental health. This initiative seeks to “build community and care for each other,” offering a “very rich” program that covers everything from screen addictions to elder care.
The organizers highlighted that this program responds to a growing concern among citizens and a “very current” topic actively debated in health and well-being working groups in which the City Council participates. They thanked the involvement of healthcare professionals, entities, and collaborating associations, emphasizing the courage to address crucial issues for society and the improvement of people's lives.
