The FVMP's Municipal Innovation Program (PIM) has seen significant growth, increasing from 12 to 51 training actions in just three years, establishing itself as a key tool for modernizing Valencian local administrations. This was announced during the inauguration of the III Conferences on Innovation in Local Administration, organized by the FVMP and the General Directorate of Innovation of the Generalitat Valenciana, where innovative experiences from various municipalities were shared.
FVMP Secretary General, Miguel Bailach, emphasized that innovation is an "essential tool" for meeting citizen demands and improving public services. He highlighted the federation's efforts to support municipalities in their technological and organizational transformation. Training demand is high, with over 5,000 applications for the PIM this year. Last year, 290 training actions were carried out with a 97% satisfaction rate.
"Local administration wants to innovate, train, and offer better responses to citizens," stated Bailach, announcing that artificial intelligence and automation will gain prominence in the future training offerings.
For his part, Director General of Innovation, Juan José Cortés, championed the role of municipalities as "drivers of public innovation" and stressed the need to bring resources and funding closer to the local level. He announced that the Territoris Innovadors program will increase its funding from 4 to 6 million euros between 2025 and 2026, with a specific training line of 195,000 euros.
The Councilor for Economy and Innovation of the Vila-real City Council, Ana Torres, participated in the inauguration. During the conference, six local innovative experiences were presented, including applications of artificial intelligence, public procurement, and grant management, aiming to foster shared learning and the implementation of best practices.
