The Eurocaja Rural Foundation has selected 32 projects from 174 locations for its 2026 Social Aid call, aimed at promoting programs for inclusion, health, active aging, and rural development.

The initiative has a global investment of 96,000 euros, distributed as 3,000 euro grants for each beneficiary project. The call saw high participation, with 327 proposals submitted by entities and associations from across Spain, demonstrating the social fabric's commitment to the challenges faced by different territories.
Over 60% of the initiatives focus on vulnerable groups, including people with disabilities, children and youth at risk of exclusion, women in vulnerable situations, and the elderly. The projects aim to foster equal opportunities, improve access to basic resources, and promote personal autonomy and social integration.
Programs related to neurodegenerative and neurological diseases, such as Alzheimer's and multiple sclerosis, stand out, emphasizing rehabilitation and support. Additionally, many proposals address combating unwanted loneliness and social isolation, particularly among the elderly, through support programs and active aging initiatives.
Rural development also plays a significant role, with over 30% of projects aimed at boosting employment and economic activity in municipalities affected by depopulation. Furthermore, the call highlights social innovation applied to well-being, incorporating technology and new methodologies, and aligning with the Sustainable Development Goals.
Among the selected projects is the initiative by the ACUDIM Association of Vila-real, which will facilitate access to healthcare resources, social participation spaces, and adapted physical activity programs for women with disabilities. Other entities from various parts of the country will receive support for projects focused on social inclusion, therapeutic support, elderly care, and cultural and economic revitalization of rural areas.
The Eurocaja Rural Foundation has thanked the participating associations for their efforts and acknowledged their daily work, reaffirming its commitment to local projects that generate a positive impact on society and strengthen territories.
