The city of Burriana celebrated the ‘Modernist Weekend’ with a significant turnout. This cultural and tourist initiative, organized by the City Council through the Tourism Department, aimed to highlight and promote the local historical, artistic, and architectural heritage.
Under the slogan 'Art, history, heritage, and flavor', the program featured five activities designed for participants to discover Burriana's modernist legacy in an engaging and educational way. The event began on Saturday with a modernist illustration workshop, led by local illustrator Pedro Cifuentes, which attracted numerous participants interested in depicting elements of the city's heritage.
On Saturday afternoon, the Municipal Market hosted a gastronomic workshop with a live demonstration, focusing on creating a sweet tapa inspired by modernist style. The Councilor for Tourism, Noelia Peris, emphasized that the initiative has helped introduce the city's history and architectural richness to both residents and visitors, highlighting the combination of art, photography, and gastronomy for a complete cultural experience.
On Sunday, the program continued with two guided tours of modernist facades, starting from the Main Square. Attendees learned about the architectural, ornamental, and symbolic details of the most emblematic buildings. As a souvenir, participants received a commemorative tote bag.
The event concluded with a modernist photography workshop, aimed at capturing the essence of the city's most representative buildings. This edition saw all available spots filled, registering high participation and confirming the public's interest in this architectural heritage.
