The meeting was attended by the commission's leaders from the last thirty years, José Zafont, Emilio Guinot, Vicente Soler, Juan Vicente Montón, José Carlos Torralba, Juan Miguel Bernat, and Cristian González. All of them are part of the anniversary working group along with Alejandro Navarro, in the audiovisual section, and under the direction of the Festival Councilor, Paloma Boix.
During the meeting, the Government team presented the official logo for the anniversary and outlined the main events of a program that will kick off on May 24 with a grand gala of appreciation for the commission. This central event will serve to pay tribute to all the people who have been part of the collective over these five decades. Those honored will receive a special commemorative badge, and a documentary about the entity's trajectory will also be screened, featuring unreleased images from personal archives.
“"Reaching 50 years with such prestige deserves a celebration that recognizes the effort and absolute dedication of all those who have worked tirelessly for Burriana."
The special program will have funding of 50,000 euros, following the credit modification approved in plenary and covered by the treasury surplus from 2025. This allocation will allow for the organization of various institutional and bullfighting events throughout the year. Among the planned initiatives, the acquisition of a commemorative bull of special stature stands out, which will be exhibited on September 7, coinciding with the exact date when the Comissió del Bou presented its first specimen in 1976.
Additionally, the project includes the publication of a historical book with more than 450 photographs contributed by local photographers and personal archives. The program will be completed with a large outdoor photographic exhibition that will visually trace half a century of bullfighting history in the streets of Burriana.
