The Burriana City Council has initiated the bidding process for the drafting of comprehensive renovation projects for the Sant Blai Municipal Sports Center, with an investment of 84,700 euros.

The Burriana City Council is advancing in the improvement of its sports infrastructure by tendering for technical assistance services for the comprehensive renovation and upgrade of the Sant Blai Municipal Sports Center. The contract includes the drafting of basic and execution projects, as well as the subsequent site management of the works.
The maximum tender budget amounts to 84,700 euros (VAT included), divided into two distinct lots to address the urgent needs of the pavilion, located on General Prim street. The first lot, with an investment of 38,300 euros, will focus on providing accessibility to the complex. It is important to recall that a primary reason for renovating the pavilion is to eliminate architectural barriers that prevent access for people with reduced mobility and to once again host official competitions.
The second lot, funded with 48,400 euros, aims to improve the waterproofing conditions of the infrastructure to prevent problems arising from humidity and leaks. This tender includes the drafting of the safety and health study, as well as the waste management study, ensuring the intervention complies with all current technical and environmental standards.
Following approval by the Local Government Board this week, the tender announcement will be published imminently, allowing interested companies to submit their bids.
The project has a global investment of 700,000 euros, made possible by an agreement of 450,000 euros and the contribution from the Plan Impulsa of the Provincial Council of Castellón. The planned works at the Sant Blai sports center focus on renovating the currently deteriorated facade and adapting the accesses, stands, changing rooms, and other facilities, ensuring strict compliance with current accessibility regulations.
The facilities, which have a capacity for 120 people and are used by over 1,000 individuals weekly, will be equipped with new services in line with current standards. This intervention will directly benefit the wide variety of users and disciplines that coexist daily in the venue. Currently, the pavilion, built in the 1980s, hosts training sessions for disciplines such as basketball, rhythmic gymnastics, Valencian pilota, futnet, and pickleball. In addition to club activities, the sports center hosts maintenance gymnastics sessions for the CEAM in the mornings, including modalities like Pilates and Tai Chi, and serves as a hub for SME activities during the Summer, Christmas, and Easter Sports Events.

"The agility and speed of this municipal executive to modernize the Sant Blai Sports Center, a sports complex used daily by our clubs and athletes, specifically, more than 1,000 people per week."

The Councilor for Urban Planning, Mario Trullen

"We want facilities without architectural barriers and without leaks in the shortest possible time so that our city's sports facilities are up to the standard our residents deserve."

The mayor of Burriana, Jorge Monferrer Daudí
