This update follows an agreement by the president of the Provincial Court of Castellón, which mandates the renewal of the shift system and a new draw to establish the order of mediator appointments.
The shift system originated from an agreement on April 12, 2016, which established this mechanism for appointing mediators in judicial proceedings. The last renewal occurred on February 17, 2025, with a draw held on April 3, 2025. Under the February 2025 renewal agreement, mediation shifts will generally be updated annually.
Professional associations and mediation entities in the province of Castellón, registered with the Ministry of Justice's public registry and having an agreement with the General Council of the Judiciary, have been urged to submit lists of interested members. Mediators not affiliated with these entities but meeting legal requirements can also apply.
Applications are open for civil, commercial, family, criminal, labor, administrative litigation, and traffic specialties. Mediators must meet current regulatory requirements, including a university degree or higher vocational training, specific mediation training, and civil liability insurance.
Lists and applications must include full name, DNI, address, phone numbers, email, judicial district, and desired specialty. Submissions should be sent to mediacio_castello@gva.es. The deadline for submission is April 10, 2026, at 23:59 hours.
Upon receipt of all applications, a single public draw will be held to determine the alphabetical order of mediator appointments for each specialty, thereby establishing the new shifts.
