The hamlet of La Foia de l'Alcalatén concludes its patron saint festivities today, Monday, May 4, in honor of the True Cross and the Virgin of Sorrows, with a mass and procession.

The festivities, revived thanks to the efforts of the Cultural Association La Ferrisa, have offered a varied program that included bullfighting and religious acts. Last weekend, the spotlight was on the bulls, with exhibitions of livestock from Jaume Tárrega and the testing of a wild bull from the Hermanos Bellés ranch.
The bullfighting events began on Thursday, April 30, with livestock from Jaume Tárrega. That day included an afternoon party animated by Gabi Lcn and DJ resident Loon in the Church Square, and the testing of a wild bull named "Rabioso", which was embolado at night, concluding with the Macrodiscomóvil Bandalay.

The festivities of La Foia de l'Alcalatén are an example of how tradition and community can come together to keep our roots alive.

Sunday was the main religious day, with the Blessing of the fields of the True Cross, mass, and procession. The day culminated with a fireworks display, the dismantling of temporary bullfighting structures, and a snack for all collaborators. Today, Monday, May 4, the celebration concludes with a mass and procession in honor of the Virgin of the Forsaken and Saint Raymond, followed by the traditional end-of-festivities firecracker display, sponsored by Vives Azulejos y Gres.
The festivities kicked off on Friday, April 24, with the ringing of bells and the firing of rockets. The first major event was a gala dinner served by the Brisamar restaurant with entertainment from the Triband orchestra in the festival tent. On Saturday, April 25, the highlight was a paella contest sponsored by Color Esmalt and Euroarce, followed by a drawing contest, a card game contest, a children's park, and a chocolate party by the A.C La Ferrissa, with an afternoon party and the Macrodisco Bandalay. On Sunday, April 26, the XV Tapas and Beer Inn, coordinated by the A.C La Ferrissa, was inaugurated with a performance by Tribut de Coples.
