Guardia Civil in Castellón has dismantled two marijuana cultivation sites in Benicarló and Torreblanca, seizing over 1,300 plants and a handgun, and arresting two men.

The Guardia Civil in Castellón has delivered another blow against drug trafficking by dismantling two significant marijuana cultivation sites, one in an industrial warehouse in Benicarló and another in a villa in Torreblanca. These operations are part of the fight against drug trafficking and electricity fraud, resulting in two arrests and the seizure of over 1,300 cannabis plants in various stages of growth.
In one of the interventions, carried out in Torreblanca, officers discovered a sophisticated, large-capacity indoor marijuana production center. The facility featured advanced lighting, extraction, ventilation, climate control, and air filtration systems. During the search, 867 marijuana plants in an advanced flowering stage were confiscated. Adding to the gravity of the operation, a short firearm was found hidden among the cultivation infrastructure, along with a loaded magazine. A 29-year-old man, allegedly responsible for guarding and maintaining the plantation, was arrested and charged with crimes against public health, electricity fraud, and illegal possession of weapons. The competent judicial authority ordered his provisional imprisonment.
The second operation took place in an industrial warehouse in Benicarló, where signs of an indoor plantation had been detected. After verifying anomalies in the electrical supply and the presence of ventilation and climate control systems, a search was conducted on May 20th. Inside, several rooms specifically set up for intensive cultivation were found, containing 494 cannabis sativa plants in different flowering phases. Equipment such as water tanks, ventilation and lighting systems, surveillance cameras, and high-end mobile phones were also seized. A 44-year-old man, in charge of maintenance and surveillance, was arrested for crimes against public health and electricity fraud.

The combined outcome of both operations includes the seizure of over 1,300 marijuana plants, two arrests, and a significant amount of technical equipment removed.
