UNED Senior Graduation in Benicàssim: It's Never Too Late to Keep Learning

Students from seven municipalities in the province of Castellón receive their accreditation diplomas in an event presided over by the Mayoress of Benicàssim.

Benicàssim hosted the closing ceremony for the UNED Senior program in the province of Castellón, where students received their accreditation diplomas, reinforcing the idea that «it's never too late to keep learning».

The event, presided over by the Mayoress of Benicàssim, Susana Marqués, and the director of the Associated Center UNED Vila-real, Alejandro Ribes Ferrer, focused on the value of lifelong learning and active participation. Students from Almassora, Vila-real, Burriana, Nules, Castellón, Benicarló, and Benicàssim received their certificates.
The Mayoress congratulated the attendees, emphasizing that their commitment demonstrates that education has no age limit. Marqués highlighted that lifelong learning is a tool for keeping enthusiasm, creativity, and the desire to move forward alive. She also thanked the faculty and staff of the program for their dedication and professionalism, which enable the initiative's annual growth.

During the 2025-2026 academic year, students participated in a broad academic program with scientific, humanistic, and current affairs subjects, including courses such as 'Science for Curious Minds,' 'Philosophy with Lyrical Echoes,' 'History and Historiography of the Modern Age II,' 'Natural and Human Landscapes,' and 'From News to Fake News: Disinformation in the Age of Artificial Intelligence.' The educational offerings of UNED Senior promote the cultural, intellectual, and social development of older adults, as well as fostering spaces for coexistence and participation in various municipalities of the province.
The director of UNED in the province of Castellón, Alejandro Ribes Ferrer, emphasized the growth of the program, aimed at the senior population. He thanked the collaborating town councils and argued that it is a fundamental program offering learning, coexistence, and active participation opportunities to the senior citizens of the province.
