The First Deputy Mayor of Castellón de la Plana, Sergio Toledo, participated in the 2nd International Civil Engineering Congress, where he outlined the city's plans for urban and economic transformation based on sustainability and investment attraction.

The city of Castellón de la Plana hosted the start of the 2nd International Congress "Building the Landscape, Recovering Heritage and Reactivating Tourism", organized by the Official College of Civil Engineers (CICCP) of the Valencian Community. The event, which opened on April 7 at the Moll de Costa del Grau, will feature sessions in Valencia and Alicante until April 10.
During the inaugural session, Sergio Toledo, First Deputy Mayor and Councillor for Urban Planning and Infrastructure of Castellón, emphasized the municipal government's commitment to an ambitious "Third Transformation". Among the strategic projects highlighted by Toledo is LogistiCS, a new industrial platform spanning 1.7 million square meters, considered the largest industrial land parcel in the Mediterranean Arc. This initiative seeks to transform Castellón into a leading logistics hub, capable of attracting international investments and generating stable employment, leveraging its strategic location near the port and the Serrallo industrial estate.
Another pillar of the city's vision is Censal Parc, described as "the largest urban forest in Castellón". This project, covering over 122,000 m², is integrated into the "Castelló, Nature in Network" program, which promotes urban re-naturalization for a greener, more biodiverse, and healthier city for its inhabitants. The councillor reiterated the commitment of the Castellón City Council to facilitate the arrival of companies and investments that contribute to wealth and job creation.
The issue of housing was also addressed by Toledo, who identified it as one of the main current challenges. He announced the promotion of nearly 4,000 new homes in the city, over 40% of which will be public protection housing, and the reactivation of stalled land. Additionally, he mentioned the strengthening of the public housing stock and the Neighborhood Plan, with 17 million euros from European funds to rehabilitate up to 600 homes in five different neighborhoods of Castellón.
Finally, Sergio Toledo mentioned other projects in collaboration with the Generalitat Valenciana, such as the completion of Castellón's bypass with the Western Ring Road, the implementation of the Low Emission Zone, the improvement of industrial estates, the extension of the TRAM to the beaches, and the renovation of the promenade on Ferrandis Salvador Avenue in the maritime district of Grau.
