Plana Alta resonated with band music during its regional meeting, held in Cabanes. The event brought together 14 musical ensembles and hundreds of musicians from across the region, making the town the hub of musical activity and highlighting the vital role of musical societies in the province's cultural life. Provincial deputy David Vicente joined the participants, fostering collaboration among the various bands.
David Vicente emphasized the significance of these musical groups, stating, "Music bands are much more than a tradition; they are an essential part of our identity, our culture, and our way of life in our towns." The deputy noted that the 14 participating ensembles represent "the effort, dedication, and commitment of generations of musicians who keep a unique cultural heritage alive," underscoring the constant work to preserve this deeply rooted tradition in the municipalities of Castellón.
The gathering also served to highlight the social function of music bands, which David Vicente described as "schools of values" that promote responsibility, discipline, and teamwork. Furthermore, their role as spaces for intergenerational coexistence, strengthening community bonds, was emphasized. "Castellón is a land of musicians. Castellón is music, music that unites us, moves us, and represents us. And from the Provincial Council of Castellón, we will continue working with musical societies, as we know that bands are one of the most important and representative cultural expressions of our province," he concluded.
The regional meetings will continue after the summer. On September 12, Figueroles will host the Alcalatén-Alt Millars event, while on September 26, La Jana will host the Baix Maestrat meeting. This year's edition will conclude on October 4 in Catí with the Els Ports-El Alt Maestrat regional gathering.
