La Plana Alta vibrated yesterday with band music thanks to the XXXI Regional Band Meeting. The municipality of Cabanes became the epicenter of this gathering, bringing together 14 musical groups and hundreds of musicians. The day served to reaffirm that “music bands are much more than a tradition; they are an essential part of our identity, our culture, and our way of understanding life in our towns”.
Provincial deputy, David Vicente, accompanied the musical societies and highlighted the effort and dedication of generations of musicians. “Fourteen bands represent the effort, dedication, and commitment of generations of musicians who keep a unique cultural heritage alive in the world,” he stressed. Furthermore, the meeting strengthened ties between the different bands and showcased their annual work.
Vicente defined music bands as “schools of values,” where responsibility, discipline, and teamwork are learned, and as spaces for intergenerational coexistence. “Castellón is a land of musicians. Castallón is music, music that unites us, moves us, and represents us. And from the Diputación de Castellón, we will continue working with the musical societies,” he assured.
The regional meetings will continue in September. On the 12th, the meeting for l’Alcalatén – Alt Millars will take place in Figueroles; on the 26th, the Baix Maestrat meeting will be held in La Jana. In October, Catí will host the Els Ports – El Alt Maestrat regional meeting, which will conclude this edition on Sunday the 4th.
