The Benicàssim City Council has initiated a comprehensive renewal of its waste containers, installing nearly 3,000 new units and 14 cleaning vehicles, with an investment exceeding 5.1 million euros to modernize the service.

This action is part of the new urban solid waste collection and street cleaning contract, which includes a specific investment of 5,150,842.82 euros. The overall contract spans 10 years with a total investment of 47.5 million euros, aiming for a profound transformation of the waste management model in the municipality.

"With the renewal of the urban waste management and street cleaning service, the town positions itself at the forefront of sustainability issues, taking a decisive step towards a more modern, efficient, and environmentally friendly waste management model, which also adapts more precisely to the current and future needs of the municipality."

Susana Marqués · Mayor of Benicàssim
The renewal includes the installation of nearly 3,000 new containers distributed across 600 complete islands, which will enable more efficient selective collection. These containers will accommodate all fractions: organic, residual, light packaging, paper and cardboard, used oil, used batteries, and sanitary textiles.

"The new containers will allow for more efficient selective collection and will include all fractions: organic, residual, light packaging, paper and cardboard, used oil, used batteries, and sanitary textiles, thus facilitating correct waste separation by citizens."

Vanessa Batalla · Councillor for Environment
The service, provided by the company Fobesa, also incorporates a corporate image renewal under the slogan “Benicàssim neta amb tu” (Benicàssim clean with you). This initiative will bring together various citizen awareness campaigns to promote responsible habits and strengthen neighborhood co-responsibility in caring for the urban environment.
In addition to containerization, the contract includes the incorporation of 14 new generation and low-emission vehicles, along with modern machinery such as mechanical sweepers, electric vacuum cleaners, watering tanks, auxiliary vehicles, and container washers. All these vehicles will be equipped with digital control systems to optimize routes and improve service efficiency.
