The Benicàssim City Council has begun preparations to commemorate in 2027 the centenary of the construction of the emblematic Fuente del Señor, an event of great historical, institutional, and symbolic relevance for the municipality.

Within this framework, the council will carry out the restoration of the fountain and the remodeling of its surroundings, thanks to the support of the Impulsa 2026-2027 Plan from the Diputación de Castellón.
The project includes the rehabilitation and illumination of the fountain, as well as the renovation of the square where it is located, combining pavements and landscaped areas. Additionally, a perimeter path will be incorporated to improve accessibility and integrate the complex into the urban space.

"The commemoration of the centenary represents an opportunity to highlight the history and identity of the municipality, while advancing in the improvement of public spaces and urban beautification."

The Fuente del Señor, built in 1927 as part of water supply works, is one of Benicàssim's most representative heritage elements. Its construction coincides with the granting of the title of “Villa” to the municipality by Alfonso XIII, an event that represented significant recognition of the town's agricultural, industrial, and commercial development and a reinforcement of its institutional identity.
