The Civil Guard in Almassora has arrested a 24-year-old man for four counts of extortion. The operation, initiated in September 2025, began after authorities learned that an individual was being coerced and threatened after accessing a contact website.

Investigations have led to the identification of four victims residing in Almassora and Ulldecona (Tarragona). Officers also successfully identified the alleged perpetrator.

The modus operandi involved contacting victims by phone after they had used contact websites, subsequently demanding various sums of money through threats and intimidation to gain illicit financial benefit.

The detainee has been handed over to the competent Investigating Court of Catarroja (Valencia).
