The Almassora City Council has initiated the tender process for the installation of 14 video surveillance cameras in the urban area, aiming to enhance citizen security and traffic management.

This project, with a budget of 96,275 euros, involves placing cameras on public lighting poles and other supports. They will be integrated into the municipal telegestion system and connected via fiber optic to the Local Police control center, allowing real-time image management.
This initiative responds to the increase in public road incidents and the high volume of vehicles circulating through the municipality, making it necessary to strengthen surveillance and prevention mechanisms.

"Citizen security is a priority for this government team, and we continue to take firm steps to provide our agents with more tools that allow them to act with greater efficiency and speed. With this video surveillance network, we not only improve traffic control but also strengthen prevention and response capabilities to any eventuality, helping our residents feel safer."

The contract, which has already been put out to tender, has an execution period of two months from the signing of the replanting act. This action adds to other measures promoted by the City Council in terms of security, such as reinforcing the Local Police staff and creating new specific units.
The 14 locations where the cameras will be installed include streets such as Trinidad, Avenida del Río with Avenida del Mar, Avenida Generalitat (in front of the municipal swimming pool and residence), Plaza Gloria Fuertes, and various key intersections like San Ildefonso with Teresa de Calcuta, Boqueras (in front of the auditorium and with Constitución Española), Juan de Austria (with José Ortiz and Caridad), Caridad with Santo Cristo, Derechos Humanos with José Ortiz, and San Jaime (in front of the social center).
