The Almassora City Council has increased its Summer School offer to 600 places to facilitate work-life balance during the summer months, featuring cinema-themed activities.

Young children are eagerly counting down the days to enjoy their summer holidays, while mothers and fathers begin to juggle intensely to balance work and family life. At the Almassora City Council, we are fully aware of this reality and, precisely for this reason, we continue to strengthen resources that help families in their daily lives.
This is the objective with which we are launching a new edition of the Summer School, a program that is growing again to try to reach the maximum number of families possible and cover all educational and conciliation needs. We understand that this service is a fundamental tool for many working families during the summer months.
This year, 600 places will be offered with the aim that practically no child is left out. We know that work-life balance cannot become an added problem during the summer, and therefore, from the City Council, we continue to make a significant effort to maintain and reinforce this service. We do this convinced that supporting families also means building a municipality more committed to the real needs of its residents.
The 2026 Summer School, under the slogan Estiu de Cinema Almassora (Cinema Summer Almassora), will once again transform the Riu Millars school into a space for learning, coexistence, and fun from June 22 to August 31. Workshops, games, educational dynamics, and activities inspired by the world of cinema will allow children to enjoy enriching holidays, fostering values such as creativity, companionship, and participation.
Furthermore, essential services are maintained to facilitate family organization, such as the early drop-off from 07:30 AM and the option of lunch until 4:00 PM. These measures respond to the real needs of many families in Almassora.
This commitment to work-life balance is not limited only to the summer. Just this week, coinciding with the patron saint festivities of Santa Quitèria, the Escoleta de Santa Quitèria (Santa Quitèria Little School) has been launched for the third consecutive year. The belief is in open, participatory festivities also designed to make life easier for families, understanding that governing means listening, addressing needs, and offering useful solutions.
From the City Council, work will continue to expand opportunities, improve services, and support families in all the stages and moments when they need the most help, as achieving work-life balance should not be a privilege, but a possibility available to everyone.
