The Almassora City Council held an institutional event to name a doctor as favorite son and a historian as adopted son, recognizing their dedication and contribution to the local community.

The Almassora council has honored doctor Juan A. Casanova Claramonte as favorite son of the municipality and historian Primitiu Garcia i Pascual as adopted son. The event, held at the Casa de la Cultura, brought together representatives from the political, social, and cultural spheres of the town in a day marked by emotion and gratitude.
The mayor of Almassora, María Tormo, highlighted the careers of both honorees and their contributions to the municipality, emphasizing that they have dedicated their lives to caring for residents and preserving local history. In her speech, she stressed that it is people, with their effort, commitment, and connection to the town, who build Almassora's identity.
In the case of the doctor, the council wished to recognize decades of professional practice marked by closeness and a vocation for service. The mayor noted that his figure went beyond medical work, becoming a reference of trust, comfort, and hope for many generations of Almassora residents.

"I have always considered medicine to be the most beautiful profession in the world. My dedication to people has been the driving force of my life, and this recognition confirms that I was right to start my professional activity in Almassora in the eighties."

The ceremony, which took place in a renovated Casa de la Cultura, featured various musical performances by a string trio from the Mestre Agut Manrique Music School and a performance by the Associació Cultural El Torrelló. With this event, Almassora has given a face to two very different profiles united by a common imprint on the municipality: care for people and the defense of the town's historical and sentimental heritage.
