A wildfire broke out early this Monday afternoon on the slopes of Serra Gelada, in Benidorm, and was brought under control around 4:40 PM thanks to the swift action of emergency teams.

The fire originated near Viena Street, an area where new luxury chalets are currently under construction. The proximity to these buildings made the intervention of the firefighting services crucial to prevent greater damage.
Since 3:00 PM, various resources have been mobilized to combat the flames. These included an aerial unit with a helitransported team, another unit from the Forest Firefighters Service of the Generalitat Valenciana, and three fire brigades from the Provincial Fire Consortium of Alicante.
Additionally, a forest coordinator and a fire prevention unit participated in the extinguishing and supervision tasks, ensuring a coordinated and effective response to the emergency.
