A vegetation fire that broke out in an abandoned shack in Benidorm has led to the evacuation of several people and is affecting a high-voltage power line tower, with firefighters having stabilized the blaze.

Three aerial units and about ten ground units are working to extinguish a vegetation fire that broke out on Monday afternoon in the L'Armanello area, in Benidorm (Marina Baixa). The fire is now stabilized, according to the Provincial Firefighters Consortium of Alicante.
The Emergency Coordination Center has declared Situation 1 of the Special Plan for Forest Fires due to the fire's proximity to the population and non-forest assets. Furthermore, several people have been ordered to evacuate.
The fire originated in an abandoned shack in Benidorm and spread rapidly due to the type of scrub vegetation. It is also affecting a high-voltage power line tower.
Three aerial units, six consortium crews, three ground units, and two helitransported units from the Generalitat Forest Firefighters, along with two fire trucks, are involved in extinguishing the flames.
