Three people have been transferred to the Hospital Marina Baixa after a stove exploded during a tortilla contest held at the hermitage of San Antonio Abad, in La Vila Joiosa.

Several people were injured, three of them seriously, following the explosion of a portable stove this Saturday at noon. The incident occurred while participants were using these cooking devices as part of the tortilla contest, held at the hermitage of San Antonio Abad, in La Vila Joiosa. According to the City Council, several individuals received attention at the scene from health services.
As a result of the explosion, three of the injured required transfer by ambulance to the Hospital Marina Baixa for more specific medical attention. The City Council activated the security and emergency services, with the intervention of health personnel and Local Police officers who were already in the area.
The contest had been organized by the hermitage's festival commission to celebrate San Isidro.
