“"With all the information gathered, today we present this Health Assets Map, which is a snapshot where, in a very graphic and visual way, the Health assets we currently have throughout the municipal area are represented. These assets go far beyond healthcare and assistance resources. We are talking about everything that contributes to improving physical and mental health such as the environment itself, social bonds, physical activity, culture, the environment, and access to local resources, among other assets."

The Finestrat City Council has unveiled an innovative Community Health Assets Map, a tool that identifies and highlights over 70 municipal resources aimed at improving the well-being and quality of life of its inhabitants.
The initiative, launched to coincide with April 7, World Health Day, is the result of months of fieldwork, including online citizen consultations and participatory workshops in the historic center and La Cala.
Among the more than 70 identified assets are socio-health services such as two medical clinics, pharmacies, and defibrillators in key locations. Natural spaces like Puig Campana, local trails, Font del Molí, La Cala beach, and Alcalde Miguel Llorca Park are also included. Sports facilities such as the sports pavilion, swimming pool, football field, and gym, as well as cultural and social facilities like the Casa de Cultura, the Museum, the Youth Center, the Pensioners' Home, or the Cala Social Center, are also part of this map.
Furthermore, the document highlights municipal initiatives such as Gymnastics for Health and outdoor sports activities in La Foia and Plaça de l'Àmfora in La Cala. The participation of nearly 20 local associations, which foster coexistence and healthy lifestyle habits, is crucial for the physical and mental well-being of the community.
The map is available for consultation on the municipal website (www.ayto-finestrat.es) and in physical format through brochures distributed throughout the municipality. It will also be disseminated via physical and digital MUPIS to maximize its visibility. This project has been funded by the Conselleria de Sanidad de la Generalitat Valenciana with €2,264.21, as part of the project “Finestrat, an asset for health. Map of assets and citizen perception for the promotion of community health”.
