The Confrides City Council has reminded the public about the continuation of its itinerant pruning service, launched last February. This initiative, which has been well-received by residents of the municipality and the local entity of l'Abdet, offers free collection and shredding of plant waste from pruning.

The service operates by appointment, with a mobile unit that travels to different points within the municipal area every Saturday, making it accessible to citizens. The council emphasizes its usefulness in managing plant waste, improving the natural environment, and reducing risky practices.

With the arrival of summer and rising temperatures, the City Council has stressed the importance of using this service as an alternative to agricultural burning, particularly during periods of increased fire risk. The mayor of Confrides, Rubén Picó, stated, “this service was launched in February to offer residents a convenient, free, and effective solution for managing pruning waste, and the response has been very positive”.

Picó added, “now that summer is approaching, we want to emphasize the importance of avoiding burning and using this municipal resource, which not only helps farmers but also contributes to the safety and protection of our natural environment.” The City Council reiterates its commitment to sustainability and implementing measures for responsible plant waste management.
