The Benidorm City Council has installed new monumental volumetric letters on the Tamarindos Promenade, which not only beautify the urban environment but also represent the municipal commitment to sustainability and emission reduction.
These elements are made from plastic sourced from recovered fishing nets. For their fabrication, the company Gravity Wave used 170 kilograms of material originating from various ports in the Valencian Community, giving a second life to waste that threatens the seas. The use of these recycled materials has resulted in a total CO2 saving of 296 kilograms.
“"We demonstrate once again that cutting-edge tourism and environmental protection can and must go hand in hand."
Mayor Toni Pérez expressed the city's pride in this new achievement, highlighting that the Tamarindos Promenade becomes a living monument to the circular economy and respect for the seas. He emphasized that the Benidorm City Council is taking another step in its strategy for sustainability and the fight against climate change, reducing the city's carbon footprint.
The initiative has already been well-received by citizens and tourists, who have begun taking photographs with the new structure. The location allows for immortalizing the city's name with its iconic skyline in the background, thus uniting urban identity with sustainability.
