The Benidorm City Council has applied for a grant of over 386,000 euros to hire unemployed women for ten months, aiming to improve their skills and facilitate their access to the labor market.

The Department of Employment and Local Development has explained that this initiative is part of the municipal policy to promote employment for population segments with higher unemployment rates. The program, called LABORA Dona, is aimed at hiring women, preferably over 45 years old, to increase their employability through the acquisition of work experience.
This program is funded by the State Public Employment Service and promoted by the Generalitat Valenciana, through LABORA. The total budget for the entire Valencian Community amounts to 12,250,000 euros.

"Within the municipal policy of promoting employment among population segments with higher unemployment rates, we are participating in the call for the regional program 'LABORA Dona', aimed at hiring women, preferably over 45 years old, with the aim of increasing their employability through the acquisition of work experience."

The number of beneficiaries of this program will be determined based on the amount finally received, as the grants are intended to cover salary costs and Social Security contributions for the hired women. All of them will provide services in citizen assistance positions in various municipal spaces.
The head of the department emphasized the importance of promoting actions that favor hiring and job creation, considering it the best social policy, especially in times of economic uncertainty. These contracts will offer participants stability during the ten months and a great opportunity to enhance their professional experience and improve their employability.
In previous editions, LABORA published calls for the EMDONA program, aimed at municipalities with fewer than 5,000 inhabitants. This year, the LABORA Dona program extends to all municipalities in the Valencian Community, thus enabling the participation of the Benidorm City Council.
