Two young individuals from Xaló, Marc Crespo Mestre and David Mestre Moncho, are embarking on a solidarity expedition to the Merzouga desert in Morocco, driving a 1994 Seat Marbella, to deliver school supplies and essential goods.

The members of the Xalonero’s Team, Marc Crespo and David Mestre, are preparing for an experience that combines an adventurous spirit with solidarity. Their participation in the Panda Raid, a well-known race covering over 2,000 kilometers through the Moroccan desert in classic utility vehicles, has a clear humanitarian objective.
The chosen vehicle for this endeavor is a 1994 Seat Marbella, generously donated by local resident Domingo Noguera Ferra. This car will serve as the means to transport school supplies and essential items to the local communities in the desert.
To gather the necessary supplies, a collection campaign has been organized and will run until next Thursday, April 9. Due to the limited space in the vehicle, donations of lightweight materials in perfect condition are prioritized, including notebooks, pencils, pencil cases, sunglasses for children's eye protection, light clothing, and toys in good condition.
The centralized collection point is at the offices of Aluminios la Vall de Xaló, open in the morning from 8:00 to 13:30 and in the afternoon from 15:00 to 18:00.
This initiative is supported by the Xaló Town Council and a wide range of local businesses, such as Bodegas Xaló, Aluminios la Vall, Prestige Green Care, Cal Xixonero, Ferretería Droguería Santos, La Bonica Café, Ca Dorita Xaló, and M&A Assessors i Projectes, in addition to contributions from private individuals in the municipality. The town council has congratulated the young participants for this blend of adventure and solidarity, encouraging all residents to contribute to the collection before their departure to Morocco.
