After a week without service, water has returned to Monte Pego and other areas, but the Dénia Public Health Center has announced that the supply is not potable and has asked residents to refrain from using it for drinking or cooking.

Water supply has been restored in Monte Pego and the areas it serves in El Ràfol d'Almúnia, Benimeli, Sagra, and Tormos, after more than a week without service. Water from the El Salvador Well has returned to taps after the Pego City Council took charge of repairing the pump.
However, the Dénia Public Health Center has informed Monte Pego residents that, for the moment, the water is not potable. This warning, according to a decree from the El Ràfol d'Almúnia City Council, is issued «as a preventive measure».

As a preventive measure, the water supply in Monte Pego is not potable.

Therefore, the council has indicated that, since the water is not suitable for consumption, its use for drinking, cooking, and preparing food is temporarily restricted. The Pego City Council has also issued an alert on social media, explaining that the Generalitat Valenciana has communicated the need to carry out routine water controls after the supply cut and subsequent resumption of service, to verify that it meets the required parameters for human consumption.
