UNED Dénia has organized the fourteenth edition of the '1 book for 1 kilo' solidarity campaign, which has allowed books to be exchanged for non-perishable food or personal hygiene products to benefit the Solidarity Table in Dénia and Cáritas Interparroquial in Xàbia.

The Casa de la Cultura de Dénia was the setting, this Thursday, for the fourteenth edition of the '1 book for 1 kilo' solidarity campaign, promoted by UNED Dénia. This initiative, which combines reading with community commitment on the occasion of International Book Day, has seen a massive citizen participation, with people coming to exchange non-perishable food or personal hygiene products for a book.
As highlighted by the UNED Dénia management a few days ago, this action allows culture to be transformed into direct aid, offering real support for families who need it most. In the case of the event held in Dénia, all proceeds will go to the Solidarity Table, with the collaboration of the municipality's social entities.
This event joins the one held last Monday at the Portal del Clot in Xàbia, whose benefits went to Cáritas Interparroquial. The campaign will complete its itinerary this Friday, April 24, in Benidorm, where the exchange table will be set up next to the Municipal Market to support the Asociación Corazón Exprés.
With this deployment across its three locations, UNED Dénia consolidates a project that fosters volunteering and citizen solidarity through a love for literature.
