The fire, which broke out late on Wednesday morning, was located in the El Palmar area, very close to Nova Dénia, on the northern coast of the municipality. In addition to the caravan, a trailer located about a hundred meters away was also affected by the flames.
The cause of the incident could be an electrical wiring fault, according to initial investigations. Residents in the area heard sounds similar to detonations before the flames spread. The fire completely incinerated both the caravan and the trailer, and also affected the surrounding vegetation, despite the rapid response of firefighters.
Extinction teams came from the regional park of Dénia and the forest brigade of Benimantell. Units from the Local Police also attended. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the incident.
This is the second caravan fire recorded in Dénia this year. On February 10, another caravan burned on El Raset beach, a coastal area where these types of vehicles are commonly parked.
