Machinery from the concessionaire Pavasal has acted today in the l'Almadrava area of Dénia to remove large quantities of sand that were endangering several coastal homes.

On the coast of Dénia, sand management is a constant challenge. While some areas suffer from scarcity, others, like the northern stretch of the Dianense coastline, experience problems due to an abundance of sand. This situation has been exacerbated by the regeneration works carried out in les Deveses.
A clear example of this issue was seen today in l'Almadrava. Pavasal's machinery, the company responsible for beach maintenance in Dénia, had to work intensively to remove sand that had dangerously accumulated near several properties.
The accumulation was such that, in one instance, the sand had almost exceeded the height of a home's front wall, covering up to four steps of the entrance staircase to the plot, as shown in images by Tino Calvo.
