Benicàssim now knows its new festival representatives for the upcoming cycle. Lucía Pallarés Hernández and Aina Escuder Borrego have been officially named as the Major Queen and Child Queen, respectively, for the 2026/2027 period.

The Francesc Tárrega Municipal Theater hosted yesterday the official appointment of the new festival queens of Benicàssim, an event marking the handover from Marta Mas Dinten and Ariadna Galán Zorrilla. The new Major Queen, Lucía Pallarés, will lead her court of honor this special year, comprised of Nayara Rodríguez Gallego, Claudia Adell Barrachina, and Balma Escoín Almenar.
For her part, the Child Queen, Aina Escuder, will have a large court of 19 festival participants. The children's representation includes names such as Valentina Escoín, Carmen López, Miquel Marín, Carla Mendoza, Manuela Agut, Alejandro Egidos, Vega Tárrega, Gabriel Santamarta, Catalina Santamarta, Claudia Traver, Javier Lucas, Mateo Corella, Martín Gutierro, Keila Pujol, Max Bellido, Neizan Güemes, Valeria Cubedo, Zoe Leyva, and Naia Iranzo.
The Councilor for Festivals, Elena Llobell, highlighted that Benicàssim has broken its historical participation record this year, demonstrating the strong commitment of its residents to their roots. Llobell assured that work is already underway to ensure that future events remain "a multitudinous, safe, and inclusive space".
The mayor of the municipality, Susana Marqués, congratulated the new representatives and thanked the dedication of the families and the outgoing queens. Marqués emphasized that the festivals represent "the best of our identity, traditions, and way of life," praising them as an intergenerational meeting point.
The new queens and their courts will be officially proclaimed on September 18th, the date that will kick off the 2026 patron saint festivities in honor of Santo Tomás de Villanueva. This same group will represent the municipality in the subsequent January 2027 festivities, dedicated to Saint Anthony Abbot and Saint Agatha.
