Pego Town Hall has presented the calendar for the Fira i Festes 2026, starting June 19th with new features for 'quintadas' and enhanced children's activities.

The town of Pego has its program ready for the 'Fira i Festes 2026' celebration, a comprehensive festive calendar set to kick off on June 19th. The festival encompasses the traditional Moors and Christians and events honoring the patron saint, the Santíssim Ecce-Homo. The Councilor for Festivities, Paula Orihuel, highlighted the main focuses of this edition, which strongly emphasizes the 'quintos' (young men celebrating their coming-of-age year) and a reinforcement of activities for children and families.
One of the main novelties this year centers on the space and support provided to the 'quintos'. Barracks will be set up for 'quintadas' that have requested them within the multi-activity complex, aiming to boost their participation in local festivities. The inauguration of these barracks, organized by the 'quintos' themselves, marks the start of the program on Friday, June 19th.
The entertainment offerings for younger attendees have also been expanded, stretching throughout the week. Notably, traditional games are being introduced on the 'Dia del Xiquet i la Xiqueta' (Child's Day), to be held at Paseo Cervantes. One of the proposed activities is the 'Joc de l'Oca Valenciana', a traditional games' gincana designed for families to participate in with their children, scheduled for the afternoon of Monday, June 22nd.
The Moors and Christians celebration will take center stage on Thursday, June 25th, with the entry of bands and 'les voltetes'. Friday will feature the embassy, and on Saturday, June 27th, the Grand Entry of Moors and Christians will take place from the Plaça del Mercat at 8 PM.
The program will conclude with religious and popular events honoring the Santíssim Ecce-Homo. On Tuesday, June 30th, there will be a nighttime 'mascletada' (firecracker display), and on Wednesday, July 1st, the procession of the 'Dia de la Sang' (Day of the Blood) will be held, accompanied by the traditional fireworks display. It is noted that the announced events and times may be subject to change due to organizational reasons.
