Continuous rainfall, with some very intense downpours, led the Dénia City Council to close at least two roads during Saturday morning. Although not excessive amounts were recorded, with 27 mm falling at the Joan Chabàs station according to Avament, the continuous nature of the rain since 8:30 AM was the determining factor.
The two affected roads are Camí del Llavador, which leads to IES Maria Ibars, and Camí de la Bota, parallel to the Ondara highway. These points are common in situations of heavy rain. This is the second time in less than 48 hours that Dénia has had to activate the luminous «closed» signage and place deterrent fences, as a similar situation occurred last Thursday due to intense rains.
Finally, around 2:15 PM on Saturday, the rain stopped. Aemet expected to conclude the yellow alert, in effect throughout the morning in Marina Alta, at 4:00 PM, with a forecast of improving weather from that moment on.
