The Ministry of Education has proposed a salary increase of 75 gross euros per month starting in 2027, an offer that teacher unions consider insufficient, leading to the continuation of the indefinite strike.

Unions have described the Ministry of Education's proposal as an «insult and shame», consisting of a salary increase of 75 gross euros per month starting in 2027, lasting three years. This amount, representing just over a thousand euros annually, does not even reach a fifth of the 500 gross euros per month that the teaching collective demands to recover the 20% of purchasing power lost since 2010.
In addition to the salary issue, other demands from the sector, such as reducing overcrowding in educational centers or improving air conditioning, remain unaddressed. These demands have been postponed for a future calendar, which led Comisiones Obreras, UGT, and STEPV to walk out of the negotiation table held this Thursday.

"This whole narrative shows that mobilizations work: this has been the first salary proposal from the regional administration since the conflict began. However, the union warns that the meager offer cannot «by far» deactivate the indefinite strike."

The indefinite strike, therefore, continues its course from Monday, May 11. Another point of contention is the minimum services. CCOO has denounced that the ministry threatens to break any negotiation if the unions do not accept that all 2nd year Baccalaureate teachers carry out student evaluations for the EBAU.
Given this situation, Esquerra Unida, with the support of Sumar, Compromís, and BNG, has presented a non-legislative proposal in the Congress of Deputies. This initiative seeks for the central government to exceptionally extend the maximum deadlines for the university entrance exams in the Valencian Community, to prevent Valencian students from being at a disadvantage compared to other territories due to the alteration of the academic year.
Meanwhile, the Marina Alta has experienced another Thursday of mobilizations. Teachers from numerous high schools and colleges in the region have gathered at the entrances of their centers to show their support for the strike. Posters have been displayed addressing families, indicating that their struggle is also for their children, in towns such as Teulada, Llíber, Orba, Xaló, Benissa, Dénia, Pedreguer, Pego, Xàbia, Gata, la Rectoria, Calp, Ondara, Els Poblets, or Jesús Pobre.
