The city of Dénia is preparing for its 2026 Major Festival, scheduled from Friday, July 3rd, to Sunday, July 12th. The City Council has designed a program with over 60 events for all audiences, with a special focus on music, including free concerts, tribute acts, mobile discos, and children's performances. Traditional events such as the Bous a la Mar (bulls at sea), parades, and religious ceremonies in honor of the Santíssima Sang will also be held.
This year, the musical program has been enhanced with new venues like the afternoon sessions in Glorieta del País Valencià and Plaça María Hervás. The ribbon race is also being revived, along with new events like the Nit de Rock (Rock Night) and the Cantada d’Havaneres (Havanera Singing). Featured artists include Abril and Malifeta, as well as free tribute concerts to bands like La Oreja de Van Gogh, Amaral, Fito & Fitipaldis, and Nino Bravo. Family shows will take place every afternoon in Plaça Valgamedios, and orchestras like Tokyo Band will provide entertainment.
The only ticketed concerts will be part of the La Marineta festival on July 3rd and 4th, featuring artists such as Nil Moliner, Mafalda Cardenal, Quinto, Michenlo, Fangoria, Nebulossa, and Sergio Dénia. All other musical performances will be free to attend. The official festival poster is designed by Ramón Mut and Punt Estudi, inspired by Mediterranean colors and the most significant events.
The religious program, in honor of the Santíssima Sang, will run from June 28th to July 9th, including processions, a novena, and solemn masses. On Wednesday, July 8th, the main celebration will feature a solemn mass, the traditional distribution of 'pa beneït' (blessed bread), and a procession through the historic center.
