The Civil Protection rapid intervention vehicle in Calp has demonstrated its effectiveness in its first year of service, halting 21 fires and conducting 208 forest surveillance operations, with its 28 volunteers accumulating over 5,500 hours of dedication.

The Department of Citizen Security, Civil Protection, and Emergencies of the Calp City Council has published the annual report of interventions by the Civil Protection Volunteer Group for the year 2025. The data reflects a year of intense activity, where the 28 volunteers committed to the group accumulated a total of 5,542 hours of active service.
Throughout the past year, the civil body provided coverage for 74 public events and carried out 208 forest surveillance operations, a fundamental preventive task for the municipality. The Head of the Local Group, Juan Carlos Rubio, emphasized the balance achieved between prevention tasks and the capacity for immediate response to emergency situations.
One of the key points of the annual balance is the performance of the rapid intervention vehicle acquired in January 2025. The Councillor for Emergencies, Guillermo Sendra, described the figures as “extraordinary,” highlighting that this light unit intervened in 21 fires in its first year of service. This vehicle stands out for its technical versatility, featuring a 600-liter tank and a dual-function pump (extinction and water drainage). Its equipment is completed with a winch for self-rescue tasks, allowing urgent action before incidents escalate.

"The acquisition of this motor pump vehicle has proven to be key. Its ability to immediately tackle small fires is vital to prevent greater harm in our municipality."
