The departure of Paqui Solivelles, former councilor for Somos Calpe, to the group of non-attached members, has left the Calp government in a minority. Despite this situation, the local executive, led by Mayor Ana Sala, is confident in its ability to continue managing the municipality until the end of the legislature.
This Tuesday, Mayor Ana Sala (Somos Calpe) reported on the new government configuration, detailing which councilors will now assume the responsibilities previously managed by Solivelles. The restructuring involves a shift in deputy mayoral positions and the redistribution of various delegations.
The third deputy mayor position, vacant due to Solivelles' exit, will be taken by Mariola Mulet (Somos Calpe), and Marco Bittner (PSOE) joins the governing board. The new composition of the board is as follows: Ana Sala (Mayor), Guillermo Sendra (First Deputy), Ximo Perles (Second), Mariola Mulet (Third), Rebeca Merchán (Fourth), Itziar Doval (Fifth), Pere Moll (Sixth), and Marco Bittner (Seventh).
Regarding delegations, Álex Coca takes over Creama and Employment, while Rebeca Merchán assumes responsibility for Human Resources. Ximo Perles (Compromís) becomes the councilor for the entire economic area, taking on Finance, Intervention, and Treasury. For his part, Marco Bittner (PSOE) will manage the OAC, Census, and Subsidies.
“"It gives us no fear, it only means more workload but no laziness."
This new distribution of responsibilities aims to maintain the balance between the tripartite's formations. Coca and Merchán, prominent figures from Somos Calpe, continue to gain influence, with Merchán becoming the main person responsible for the municipal workforce. Ximo Perles (Compromís) strengthens his influence in the economic area, and Marco Bittner (PSOE) integrates into the governing board with the management of subsidies.
