This event, part of the Mitjafava Fest program, will offer a unique opportunity to taste the versatility of the Poblera fava bean, a culinary emblem of the municipality. The initiative seeks to preserve and promote the most authentic recipes of the region.
The star dish of these days will be the 'arròs amb fava pelà', a creamy and thick-textured recipe, made with dried and peeled fava beans. This gastronomic gem is a tradition that remains alive in few places in the region, such as Xàbia, Jesús Pobre, and, of course, El Poble Nou de Benitatxell.
The preparation of this rice evokes the agricultural past of the municipality, when farmers cooked it at noon and saved a portion for dinner, after long days of work in the fields, a practice known as eating 'de recapte'.
For this edition, three renowned local establishments will participate in the days. On Thursday, April 16, Restaurante La Cumbre (Reservation phone: 966 49 32 13) will be the host. On Friday, April 17, it will be the turn of Ca Toni Mònica (Reservation phone: 966 49 36 36), and on Saturday, April 18, Trillaora Bar (Reservation phone: 647 60 67 84) will close the event. Due to high demand, it is essential to make a prior reservation directly with the restaurants.
